In 1619, Sébastien de Laurens, treasurer of the principality of Orange, acquired Château de Beauregard. His son, Philippe Guillaume de Laurens, born in 1616, inherited the estate and later became Baron of the Holy Roman Empire under Emperor Ferdinand III.
Before the château, a modest inn had existed on this site since 1400, serving travelers along the river Ouvèze. Over the years, Château de Beauregard transformed into an elegant retreat, welcoming nobility and local aristocrats.
The Biliotti family, who purchased the château in 1763, remodeled it into its current Renaissance-inspired style, adding turrets, battlements, and a central structure flanked by two wings.
Their emblem, two lions, adorns the wrought-iron entrance gates. The grand avenue of plane trees leading to the main gate, planted during Napoleon I’s reign, symbolizes social gatherings and time spent with loved ones.
